{365 Project} January

Monday, February 9, 2015
Wow. Things have been busy to say the least. My family returned home to Washington after spending the holidays in Colorado where we had a wonderful time. I was so happy to have had the chance to work with some previous clients as well as some new faces! I also committed to a 365 challenge for 2015 in which I decided I would document my daughter's next year and our daily experience with toddlerhood.

Long story short, I have been very busy taking pictures, but not so good on the social media love.

I thought I would kick off the blog posts with sharing my first month of the 365 project. First off, it wasn't easy...it was hard to make sure to take a photo a day. Especially for someone like me who tries to perfect shots. I really had to learn to take the picture no matter what...and was challenged by the many different lighting situations...or lack of lighting as I was usually taking these late at night when I forgot to take one all day! I am committed to not using a flash and forcing myself how to be completely proficient in any lighting situation I encounter. All will be black in white and my plan is to create a bound coffee table book at the end of the year to showcase the images.

I decided to focus on my 16 month old daughter and her daily adventures. The first month taught me that: we hang out in jammies a lot during the day, she is usually rocking some crazy hair, and she can make a mess with the best of them. It is amazing to watch her learn and take interest in different activities...her growth is happening right in front of us and we want it to slow down! Taking these pictures has forced me to slow down and find the moment in the day, because they are all so special! I highly encourage every momma out there to keep the camera out and document daily life with your children! These moments are so fleeting!

I hope you enjoy! She's my crazy chicken...I love her!

February is already well on its way and I am still at it! I forsee a lot of moving boxes in the next set, as we are moving into a new home away from the city! We are excited!
